Roddick vs. David Ferrer
It won’t be a Spanish test when Andy Roddick faces off number 16th seed David Ferrer from Spain; it will be a test of whos wants it more.
The Spaniard has been on a roll defeating Indianapolis finalist John Isner 7-6(3), 6-3 and Radek Stepanek , 6-2, 7-5, who has been on fire doing the worm after every win in the US Open series.
The head-to-head between Roddick and Ferrer is 2-1, with Roddick on the lead. Roddick also took the W at their last meeting in the ATP Masters Series Miami this year.
So who do you think will take the big W this time?
Roddick is playing great; his backhand looks like it could really become a weapon in his arsenal. He needs the win because he’s the defending Champ and thus he has some points to defend. On the other hand I bet Ferrer will play like he has nothing to lose. To his credentials; he has two tittles this year and even though he is known as a clay court specialist; he has had respectful results on hard court. On top of that we can’t forget he has proven that he’s a fighter and won’t easily concede a defeat. Andy will have to do what he does best here hold his serve real tight.
