Cincy Tennis Day 4 part 1
August 16th 2007 20:24
Who wants it more? Apparently Baggy Baggy… I mean Ferrer.
Mr. Roddick fell to the persistent good serve of Ferrer, 7-6(4), 6-4
Roddick didn’t serve bad, he didn’t face a single break point until the last game of the match. So why the higher seed lost? His forehand shots were not landing on court; he made over 10 unforced errors with his forehand. The forehand is a key part in Roddick’s game and today it wasn’t reliable.
However, what defined the match was how surprisingly good David Ferrer was serving, this frustrated Roddick, take it as a Sampras fact; Big servers get frustrated and complicated when the opponent is serving at their pace.
Ferrer didn’t have the faster serve, but the placement of this left Roddick tumbling and mumbling. Ferrer was consistent and solid; this is a guy that will rarely beat himself.
Andy needs to work a lil more in his readjustment game to make a statement at the US Open. Ferrer needs to keep the good serve and fighting spirit to go deep in this tourney.
Baggy Baggy aka Marcos Baghdatis is making magic against Federer. It will be interesting to see if that can beat Federer.
Carlos Moya, el Moyini!! Is into the quarters of this Cincy! I am really happy to see this. Moya is a great player with good serve and forehand and seeing him having success after his 30s is an inspiration to many players in the tour. He beat Del Potro 7-5, 3-6, 7-5.
In other results so far this Thursday 16;
My lil sis fav. Hewitt defeated J Melzer.
N Almagro over J Nieminen 6-2, 6-2
Young American WC keeps on rolling; Sam Querrey over Nadal’s pacifier J Monaco 6-3, 7-5.
Life is all about making little readjustment here and there; you won’t ever make it perfect, but you can always model it in a way that makes you happy.
