Russia and Argentina will contest the Davis Cup final after defeats to Australia and the USA respectively.
These two were contests of contrast, with Argentina beating Australia in 3 straight rubbers and the fourth match between Russia's Dmitry Tursunov and America's Andy Roddick needing to go to 17-15 in the fifth set of the fourth match.
That match was the longest final set in a World Group Finals Match.
Dmitry Tursunov was also the hero of the quarter-finals matchup against France, beating French prodigy Richard Gasquet in the deciding 5th rubber.
After the match a delighted Tursunov said: “It’s a great feeling, you can’t really describe it. I’m really glad I won it and glad the crowd got to enjoy the match.”
