Day 5 at the US Open
September 4th 2010 09:16
Howdy
It was a pretty standard day at the US Open yesterday with no real upsets taking place. Venus cruised through her 3rd round match as did Nadal, Verdasco, Ivanovic and Dementieva, making for some awesome round of 16 matches will take place tomorrow and monday... looking forward to it BIG TIME!!
In case you missed yesterday, here are some results from both the mens and womens:
MENS:
Murray bt Brown 7-5; 6-3; 6-0
Querrey bt Granollers 6-2; 6-3; 6-4
Stakhovsky bt Harrison 6-3; 5-7; 3-6; 6-3; 7-6
Nalbandian bt Serra 7-5; 6-4; 6-2
Wawrinka bt Chela 7-5; 6-3; 6-4
WOMENS:
Clijsters bt Kvitova 6-3; 6-0
Stosur bt Errani 6-2; 6-3
Schiavone bt A. Bondarenko 6-1; 7-5
Peer bt Pennetta 6-4; 6-4
I'd just like to add something here, and I might be off limits cause I don't know much about ESPN cause I live in South Africa, but they talk a HELLAVA lot!!!! I mean they show about 10 minutes of tennis, then go back to the booth thing and talk some more about their opinions, then go to a 7 minute long ad break, then talk some more about their opinions, and by the time they go back to the tennis, what do you know.... the games finish!!
It's kind of ruining the US Open for me a bit.
Just saying...
