Grass season rolls in
June 21st 2006 01:05
Roger Federer has made history by equalling Bjorn Bjorg's record of 41 matches on Grass. In comparison, Andy Roddick failed to make history when he was defeated by James Blake at Queens (mentioned earlier) on route to become the first player to win the Stella Artois Championships for 4 consecutive years.
Lleyton Hewitt broke his titles drought by beating James Blake in straight sets. His last win was at the Sydney International last year. His title comes on fathers day (in England) with wife daughter Bec Mia watching in the stands.
Roger beat Czech teenager Tomas Berdych 6-0 6-7(4) 6-2, whilst Lleyton beat James Blake 6-4 6-4.
