Nadal defeats the Djoker

What a thrilling end to an exciting US Open. The Men's final was postponed to Monday due to the rain on Sunday. The match started off with a long and close rally that signified great things to come in the match. After a close first set Nadal took it 6-4, only to be broken for the third time in the tournament in the second set. Nadal who changed his service grip (after all these years) to a more continental hold, displayed the benefits as he pummelled serves 12mph faster than he could before.
The second set got 4-4 after some heart-stopping rallies, but rain stopped play at 30-30 with Djokovic serving. Seeing as here in South Africa the final was on at 12pm and then had to be postponed, and put my faith into the PVR machine which taped all the programmes for about five hours. Unfortunately for me when I checked the playback this morning, and went onto the last programme taped it switched on just as Nadal was lifting his trophy... of course.
But I rewound and still watched the match and Djokovic took the second set 7-5. The third was another close affair with some awesome backhand passes by Nadal that makes him look like a superhero out to avenge those who dare approach the net. Nadal took the third 6-4 and won the fourth 6-2 after Djokovic pulled a forehand wide. He collapsed to floor and it was evident how much it meant to him, and rightfully so, he deserved the career slam.
Well done to both players, it was a cracking match
