Live!
World Number One Roger Federer (SUI) is currently playing David Nalbandian (ARG) and neither of
them have broken serve as yet. David leads the head to head between the two but Roger has won
the majority of the games between the two (and they've played each other often!) whilst being number
1. The exception was at the Masters Cup in Shanghai at the end of 2005 where David Nalbandian won against an
out-of-form Federer in 5 sets, a truly spectacular match if anyone watched it! Roger Federer had
injured his ankle badly several weeks before and had been wearing an ankle brace during the
tournament as well as well into 2006's Australian Open. Federer has mentioned Nalbandian as always
being a threat. Tonights match should be exciting!
Yesterday Roger Federer faced a challenge from Nicholas Almagro, needing 5 match points to claim
the match! He had several match points in the 2nd set but needed to get to 3 sets to finish it up.
Also, Gael Monfils beat American Andy Roddick yesterday 6-2, 6-3. The French teenager faces Rafael
Nadal, the 2nd seed known as the "Raging Bull" tonight.
