This last week has seen a few tournaments fly by, and there some upsets here and there, making it an exciting tennis week. We'll start with the Thailand Open where Spaniard Guillermo Garcia Lopez who ousted compatriot Rafael Nadal one the title after defeating Jarkko Niemenin 6-4;3-6;6-4. It's the second title of his career and he's ranked number 53 in the world... this will no doubt give him some valuable confidence.
In other news Mikhail Youzhny won the Malaysia Open, where he beat Andrey Golubev 6-7; 6-2; 7-6 in a close three setter. Youzhny been doing pretty well and is now inside the top ten... guess that hitting himself on the head till he bled really knocked some sense into him.
The other winner of the week was Caroline Wozniacki who overcame Elena Dementieva in the Toray Open. She lost the first set 1-6 then came back, taking the second 6-2, and after too many unforced errors from the Russian, Wozniacki won the third 6-3.
Congrats to all the winners!
In my opinion, players don't smile enough, it makes them look as though they aren't happy playing. But that's just my opinion.
